Integra Telecom's CIO Receives Top Leadership Award
Julie Rouzee Recognized with Orchid Award for Achievement
Portland, Ore. - April 28, 2006 - Julie Rouzee, chief information officer of Integra Telecom, a leading provider of all-in-one telecommunications and internet services for small and mid-sized businesses, was named a 2006 Women in Business Orchid Award winner by the Portland Business Journal, in the large business category (over $25 million). Rouzee was selected based on her business achievements and contributions to the community; the announcement was made at the Women in Business Orchid Awards event on April 27.
The annual event attended by 600 business and community leaders recognizes the significant business and civic contributions made by 25 women working in the greater Portland, Oregon metropolitan region.
"It is such an honor to receive this award," said Rouzee. "I share it with the team at Integra who work hard, set high goals and consistently exceed them. It's a privilege to represent Integra and to be recognized among this group of accomplished women."
Rouzee has more than 21 years of experience in the telecom industry and 18 years experience in information technology. She has been an integral part of the Integra Telecom team since early 2000, where she has filled the roles of IT manager, vice president of IT, and since 2003, chief information officer. As CIO, Rouzee is responsible for the information technology (IT), collections, and billing teams. Rouzee has been a recipient of 'Integra's President's Club Award' for outstanding work and achievements.
Rouzee is also an avid sailor and sits on the Board of Directors for Oregon Women's Sailing Association (OWSA), an organization that promotes and encourages water safety and sailing education for women in the Vancouver/Portland area. She currently chairs the OWSA 2006 'Wednesday Night Sail' Committee. She is also actively involved with fund raising for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. In the past, Rouzee has volunteered at the Vancouver Women's Shelter, ARC, and is proficient in American Sign Language.
Rouzee holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
